Welcome to The University of Texas at Dallas, where the next four years will be the most exciting years of your life. You have already taken the first step to enhancing your collegiate career by looking into Greek life here. We are the Nu-Omicron chapter of Kappa Sigma, the largest fraternity in North America and the first Greek organization on campus. We received our charter in 1992 and have been growing steadily ever since. Expanding our brotherhood relies heavily on those whom we choose to be a part of our family. Kappa Sigma concentrates our efforts on recruiting those who wish to be placed in a position of leadership and brotherhood within our organization of men with similar ideals, goals and motives, but who also possess many different abilities. If you are interested in joining our brotherhood, please click here.
To those selected, Kappa Sigma offers:
Fellowship
At its core, a fraternity is a band of brothers brought together under the same ideals and principles to form strong friendships. Joining Kappa Sigma provides opportunities for fellowship, fun and personal growth that you simply cannot get elsewhere. Over 300,000 men have joined and enjoyed the unmatched experiences, involvement and lifelong brotherhood that Kappa Sigma offers.
Leadership
Kappa Sigmas strive to be leaders within our own chapter, campus and community. From starting the Interfraternity Council, the governing body of social fraternities, at UT Dallas to being the named the "Most Preferred Fraternity in North America", Kappa Sigma never settles for anything less than greatness.
Scholarship
Our main purpose as students at UT Dallas is to receive the best education of which we are capable. From its earliest beginnings in Renaissance Italy, Kappa Sigma has promoted scholarships among its members. Since its inception, over $4.5 million in scholarships have been award by the Kappa Sigma Endowment Fund to brothers who excel in academics, campus involvement and leadership. Our brothers come from many different majors at UT Dallas including Engineering, Business, Communications and many more. With such a large range of fields covered, it is easy to access any help needed to thrive at this university.
Service
Helping others is part of being a Kappa Sigma. Our brothers spend hundreds of hours working in our community and raise thousands of dollars for worthy causes each year. From organizing park clean-ups with sororities to living in a box through rain and shine to collect donations for our veterans, Kappa Sigs work hard for their causes.
